Google Analytics:

PREF, persistent for a very short period, Set by Google and tracks who visits the store and from where. This data is retained for 26 months. We use this data to run reports, figure out how people find our shop and make decisions on how best to improve our shop and products.


Our website uses cookies for Facebook’s Conversion Tracking Pixel. This tool enables us to follow the actions of users after they’re referred to our shop by clicking on a Facebook ad. We’re then also able to use this information for analytics and reporting.

We may have to share your personal data with the parties set out below for the purposes set out in the table in paragraph 4 above.

  •    External Third Parties Services
  •         Shopify - Providers acting as processors based the US who provide IT, system administration and payments processing. They secure data behind a secure firewall. If you choose a direct payment method, Shopify will process your card payment. Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
  •         Professional advisers acting as processors including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers based in the UK who provide banking, legal, insurance and accounting services.
  •         HM Revenue & Customs, regulators and other authorities acting as processors based in the UK who require reporting of processing activities in certain circumstances.
  •         Marketing applications including Back in stock, Kit, Mailchimp and Facebook, which are based in the US.
  •         Reporting and user experience including Google and Shopify, which are based in the US.
  • Limespot is a service that tailors recommended items, it's based in Canada. Limespot helps us to display items that are different colours, sizes and also of interest or useful in relation to the items that you're currently browsing e.g. a pencil case might be a handy addition if you're looking at pens, or a notebook might have alternative colours or paper styles. Limespot's privacy policy can be found here: https://www.limespot.com/privacy-policy. Limespot makes it easy to find out the data that they hold about you with their privacy tool, which you can access here: https://privacy.limespot.com/. With this tool, you can also request that all data held about you is deleted. We can also of course, do this on behalf of you. Limespot places a cookie to enable personalised recommendations.   • We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices (in particular device's IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website).   •         Accounting records and payments processors including Xero, Bold Apps and Paypal, which store data in the US.
  •         Order fulfilment assistance including Royal Mail and Forsberg+Two, which are based in the UK and the EU. These processors help with order fulfilment including printing packing slips and postage labels.
  •       Order fulfilment and inventory management with Stitch Labs, who are based in the US.
  •       Order fulfilment and inventory management with James and James Ltd, a third-party fulfilment company. They pick, pack and ship our orders.
  •         Customer service. We use email for customer service including gmail and Help Scout, both based in the US.
  •         Fraud prevention including Signifyd, which is based in the US.
  •  Stamped.io, which is based in Singapore. Stamped.io help us to send follow up review request emails to find out if you're happy with your order and service.
  •    Third parties to whom we may choose to sell, transfer, or merge parts of our business or our assets. Alternatively, we may seek to acquire other businesses or merge with them. If a change happens to our business, then the new owners may use your personal data in the same way as set out in this privacy notice.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

No fee required – with some exceptions

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable admin fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.

What we may need from you

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.

Time limit to respond

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
